The microscopic full image of the entire PCB at up to 5,000 dpi – with the desktop unit at the workstation or the inline unit directly in the line. Every image goes straight to EFA SmartSuite.

Why a full image ..
3 reasons why looking through a microscope is no longer enough today.
Ever smaller components
New packages keep getting smaller and PCBs ever more densely populated – inspection needs microscopic resolution.
The microscope only shows a section
Looking through the eyepiece, you only see a small area – and first have to find every component on the PCB and in the assembly drawing.
No direct comparison
Under the microscope, every component is inspected individually. The full image shows all components of a group, such as a part number, side by side – deviations stand out immediately in direct comparison, and inspection becomes faster and more reliable.

When components get smaller, you simply replace the lens or camera yourself – the unit stays. This conserves resources, avoids electronic waste and eases your budget. How it works
How the image is created ..
The software duo EFA Capture and EFA Stitch turns many individual images into one full image – without visible transitions.
1
Capture individual images
EFA Capture
The imaging profile ensures identical images for every PCB.
2
Stitch together
EFA Stitch
The full image is ready immediately after capture – without visible transitions.
3
Inspect
EFA SmartSuite
The image goes directly to EFA SmartSuite: assembly plan on top, identical components assessed together.
One imaging profile per PCB type – reproducible images
Setup staff create profiles with a live image, operators just load and start
Incident light and dark field finely balanced – even laser-etched markings become visible
HDR images with significantly fewer shadows
Automatic sequences on the desktop unit, for example first normal, then under UV, then the reverse side
Future-proof: camera and lens can be replaced, the unit calibrates itself
What our customers say ..
The EFA inline solution won us over with its automatic image capture. This lets us inspect batch sizes from 0 to 1,000 with EFA Inspection without any problems.
Marco SchönefeldManaging Director · proServ electronic
Compared with a scanner-based system, the EFA unit saves time when setting up and capturing images.
Daniel HornischerWork Preparation · Fercad Elektronik
Our wide range of components, packages and assemblies can be covered by the camera system in good resolution.
Volker LindeManaging Director · IMG Electronic & Power Systems
Another advantage of EFA is that we store the very high-quality photos in SAP, which archives the release process and makes it traceable.
